DEF LEPPARD Guitarist Celebrates 20th Anniversary Of 'Adrenalize'

March 31, 2012

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of DEF LEPPARD's fifth studio album, "Adrenalize", the band's lead guitarist, Phil Collen, plays the "White Lightning" solo in the two-minute video clip below.

"Adrenalize" was released on March 31, 1992 and debuted at No. 1 on the U.K., U.S. and the Australian charts. The album was certified four times platinum in Canada, three times platinum in the U.S. and gold in the UK.

The creation of "Adrenalize" was marked with tragedy as on January 8, 1991, guitarist Steve Clark was found dead in his London home. The coroner's report revealed that Clark had died of an accidental mix of alcohol with painkillers and anti-depressants that led to compression of the brain stem.

A search for Clark's replacement was held off until after the completion of the album. Former DIO and WHITESNAKE guitarist Vivian Campbell was hired and he appears in all promotional videos for the album's singles except "Let's Get Rocked".
